The Amherst Area Amateur Astronomers Association (5As), founded in 1984, is a Nonprofit, Tax Exempt Organization for the Support, Study, Enjoyment, Education, and Advancement of Astronomy, Science, and Nature. Programs and services including year-round club observing, assistance with obtaining and using telescopes, and the opportunity to learn from experienced observers with exposure to many astronomical instruments. Programs exist for novice as well as expert observers. The 5As also offers free public observing opportunities and outreach to schools and other organizations. The 5As is open to all who want to join and maintains an extrememly open door policy allowing non-members to attend meetings and events if they choose.  Click HERE  to see our Constitution.
